aspen decking are the only specialised decking company in the Highlands and are now one of the UK's oldest decking companies. We cover a larger area than any other UK decking business so wherever you live you could enjoy the benefits of an aspen deck.

A Brief History Of Decking

Although decking has only recently become a must have for every UK garden it has been around in the United States since at least 1801 . Thomas Jefferson, the third American President and one of the Founding Fathers, had a deck built on his Monticello Mansion in Virginia (see picture right) - and it's still there. Unfortunately aspen decking cannot lay claim to having built it.

Reasons to choose decking

In the last few years decking has become the most popular form of hard landscaping to the domestic garden world. This is due largely to the flexibilty of design and natural beauty of wood . The natural warmth of wood as opposed to concrete or slate patios makes it an ideal material for use in the Scottish climate.

Q. How long will it last?
A. As long as its looked after it can last 200 years (see history).

Q. Is there a lot of maintainence?
A. No. However we recommend that the deck is re-waxed every two years.

Q. Can I do the waxing myself?
A. Yes its simply applied with a hand pump garden sprayer.

Q. Will you do it for me?
A. Yes, and we will send you a reminder when it needs doing.

Q. How much does it cost?
A. It very much varies from job to job, as we try to tailor every deck to our customer's requirements and always try to keep the price as low as possible while maintaining a high standard of finish. (see our guide price deck page?)

Q. Is there a guarantee?
A. Yes all our materials are guaranteed against rot or decay. (see materials)

Q. How long will it take to build my deck?
A. It depends on size, a small deck may only take one day whereas the largest deck we have built has taken 3 weeks. The average time scale is one week.

Q. When can you do it?
A. We will proceed with your deck within three weeks of your order, although normal lead time is two weeks.

Q. Will you come when you say you will come?
A. Yes we have a 100% record for reliability we will give you a start date on order and then we stick to it.
